To beat Giant Shigandang in Black Myth: Wukong, follow these detailed steps:
1. **Locate the Boss Fight**
– To access the Giant Shigandang boss fight, you must first find and collect the first four of the five Skandha throughout the game. The locations of the Skandha are as follows:
– Skandha 1: From the beginning of the game.
– Skandha 2: After reaching a specific point in the game.
– Skandha 3: From a designated area.
– Skandha 4: After reaching another specific point in the game.
– Skandha of Consciousness: After defeating Giant Shigandang in Mount Huagao, the game will reward you with this final Skandha.
2. **Reach the Verdant Path**
– During the final chapter, navigate to the Verdant Path in the Foothills.
– From the Keeper’s Shrine, head straight to the Supreme Inspector boss fight, which rewards you with the Somersault Cloud Spell.
– Use the Somersault Cloud Spell to fly straight to the hill in the distance. As you approach the waterfall on your left, head right to find a narrow passage through the mountains.
3. **Find the Boss**
– Keep following this path until you come out to an open area. Immediately head down on your Cloud, as the boss will wake up and shout, dismounting you if you are high up in the sky.
4. **Understand the Boss’s Attacks**
– Attack Descriptions:
– Stomping Charge: Avoid by moving out of its path.
– Body Slam: Dodge the initial slam to avoid getting hit by the shockwave.
– Shoulder Slam: If you’re circling around the boss, it will stand up and slam its shoulder. Dodge the initial slam to avoid spikes on the ground.
– Side Sweep: The attack is fairly easy to dodge.
– Explosive Stomp: Raise one leg and arm into the air; you have to dodge this attack.
– Stomp And Smash: Stand up and smash the ground; avoid by recognizing the stomp.
– Two Punches: If you’re right in its face, the boss might stand up and punch; dodge in any direction.
– Body Slam and Exploding Spikes: Similar to the regular Body Slam but with exploding spikes; you have to dodge both attacks.
5. **Effective Strategy**
– The best strategy is to stay behind the boss. This will shut down half of its attacks, making it easier to avoid most of its attacks.
– The Rock Solid spell is ineffective against Shigandang as it is made of rocks itself. Using this spell will only knock you out of the stone form.
– Use Immobilize to deal a lot of damage to the boss and charged heavy attacks when close to the boss. These attacks are more effective than using spells like Pluck of Many due to Shigandang’s high defense and AOE attacks.
6. **Attack the Crystals**
– The boss has crystals on its arms that can be attacked. Wait until the boss slams both arms down on the ground to cause a shockwave. As soon as the shockwave ends, head towards the arms as they raise back up.
– Use any stance you are comfortable with to hit these crystals numerous times. This should give you enough time to get in, hit the crystals, and return to your safe spot.
7. **Dodge Slams**
– Before the boss drops its arm for you to climb on, it performs three slams. You need to dodge these slams to avoid taking damage and repeating the fight.
8. **Defeat and Rewards**
– Follow the strategy of staying behind the boss, attacking the crystals, and dodging its slams. Once you’ve dealt enough damage, the boss will drop one of its arms, allowing you to climb and trigger a cutscene.
– After defeating the boss, you will acquire the final Skandha and receive rewards such as the Skandha of Feeling Key Item and the Heart of Stone crafting material, which can be used to create the Cloud-Patterned Stone Staff.
By following these steps, you should be able to effectively defeat Giant Shigandang in Black Myth: Wukong.
